From interviewing her family with a toy microphone to binge-watching Oprah as a kid, Laney's passion for storytelling started early. In college, she sharpened her on-camera presence through hands-on media involvement, leading to NATAS and faculty awards that recognized her drive and talent. Now, she's channeling that lifelong love for broadcast into a career dedicated to telling impactful, authentic stories.

BUTV10 is one of the largest student groups on campus. BUTV10 provides students with a collaborative and professional environment to experiment with production outside of the classroom.

Storytellers is the latest program from NBCU Academy, whose mission is to diversify the pipeline and lower the barriers of access to careers in journalism, media and tech. Instead of only covering mainstream or breaking news stories, Storytellers aims to find underrepresented community issues.
